Enhanced Hoppers

From Arcane Realms Wiki

Introduction

Enhanced runs a very complex yet extremely useful system that expands the capabilities of hoppers to be virtually endless! Automatically sort items using no redstone, transfer items wirelessly without the need of long hopper strings, automatically craft any item inside of that hopper and so much more! Below is each of the features listed with a description of how to use them.

Hopper Levels

The hoppers can be levelled up from 1 to 10, and with each level comes more options with your hopper. Below is the levelling system and what you get with each level, as well as a key to help you understand what each property does.

Property Description
Range The range in which a hopper can connect to another container. This works in any direction, inculding diagonally.
Transfer Speed This is the number of items the hopper will transfer every time it moves items to another hopper or a different container, both wirelessly and directly to another hopper, linked wirelessly or placed next to another hopper.
Link Amount This is the amount of containers a hopper can wirelessly link to at one time. You can connect to more than 1 container, and they prioritise the container to send the items to in order of which container you click.
Suction The range in which a hopper can automatically pick up items closeby to it.
Filter This states whether the level of hopper has the ability to use the item filtering function. See more information Here.
Teleport This states whether the level of hopper has the ability to become a teleportation. See more information Here.
Auto-Crafting This states whether the level of hopper has the ability to automatically craft items. See more information Here.

Wireless Connection

This hoppers system allows you to connect hoppers wirelessly to other hoppers or containers, which can be extremely useful in large storage systems, as it will require very few hoppers and takes very little time to set up. To link a hopper to another hopper, punch the hopper you want to send the items from, and click the tripwire hook. Then go to the hopper or container you want to send these items to and punch it. If you've levelled up your hoppers, you can connect to multiple different containers from the same hopper. The hopper will prioritise the item sending in the order in which you selected the hoppers. For example, if you selected hopper A to send to hopper B, chest C and hopper D, it would check A first, then B, then C. If all of these are full, the item will not be moved and will stay in this hopper.

Item Filtering

The hoppers have an item filtering option that allows you to allow certain items, deny certain items and even delete items entirely without the need of any redstone devices. This helps free up space, manage things easily and do it all faster! To enter the filtering editor menu, simply punch the hopper, and click on the comparator. Below is each type of sorting method explained, and the advantages and drawbacks with using this method that you may want to look out for while setting up a system with this mechanic.

Whitelist

Whitelist allows you to only allow certain items through this hopper. Simply put any type of item inside the 2x4 area inbetween the white stained glass panes, and the hopper will automatically allow these items. Note: The item's name, lore and any other data, such as item NBT or durabilty is taken into account with this sorting system. This means something like clearing the bows from a skeleton XP farm is not possible as they all drop different levels of durability. Any item that is not any of these items will either sit inside of the hopper, or go to the Rejected Items Container.

Blacklist

Blacklist allows you to deny a specific item from going through this hopper, but let all other items pass through. Simply place the item you do not want to be accepted through this hopper into the 2x4 area inbetween the black stained glass panes, and the hopper will deny these items from going though. This could be helpful if you have a general farm with many different items going through, but you only want a handful of specific items from this system, as you can pull these from the main stream, and the rest will not be allowed through, or go to the Rejected Items Container.

Void

Void allows you to delete certain items completely. Note: This cannot be undone, and staff will NOT refund any lost items through this system. Simply place the item you want to be deleted in the 2x4 area inbetween the barriers, and any item that enters the hopper that is that item will be deleted instantly. This could be useful if you have a farm that needs an overflow protection, you'd place this at the end of a hopper chain which will then delete any item that enters it.

Rejected Items Container

Any item that is caught by a whitelist or blacklist and is denied passthrough will stay inside of the hopper. This could create complications as the hopper may become full. On the right-hand side of the filtering menu, you can see a tripwire hook. If you click this, and click on any other container, such as a chest, shulker box, furnace or any other container that holds items, it will transfer all of the "rejected items" to this container.

Teleportation

Teleportation is a helpful and quite powerful system that allows a hopper to become both an item and player transporter. It will teleport you to the end of the hopper chain, which could be a way to set up some kind of tleportation pad inside your homes to be an elevator, or just easy transportation. To set up a teleportatiohn hopper, simply connect a hopper wirelessly to another hopper. Then, punch the hopper, and navigate to the ender pearl. Here, you can right click to toggle between 3 different settings: + DISABLED: teleportation will be disabled for this hopper. This is the default setting with any hopper. + SNEAK: This will teleport you when you sneak (press shift) ontop of this hopper. + WALK_ON: This will teleport you when you simply step ontop of the hopper. No action will be required to trigger the teleportation.

Automatic Crafting

Using these hoppers, you can easily and efficiently automatically craft items. To access the item crafting editor, simply punch the hopper and click on the crafting table. Setting automatic crafting up is very simple. Simply place the item you want to be crafted inside of the gap in the centre. The hopper will now search for any item that is in the input's crafting recipe and store it inside of the hopper. Once all of the items that are needed to craft your selected item are inside of the hopper, the hopper will craft the item, and the items are now free to be transported elsewhere from this hopper. Note: The hopper will NOT let go of any item inside of it that is a part of a crafting recipe, so if the next containter in the hopper chain gets full, it will not be able to craft anything as there is no space for the item to be stored inside of the hopper. It is recommended to use the filtering system to help you transport the items out of these hoppers.
